Japanese movies always make my head spinning.... Ōsama Game(sometimes written as Ousama Game) which is unrelated to Osama bin Laden. Originally based on manga with the same title, the movie was released on 2011.
Ōsama/王様 = The King
A high school class, containing 32 students, all receive a strange text message on their cell phones one night. It welcomes them to the "Ōsama Game," in which they are given specific tasks to carry out in a 24 hour period.
No one takes it very seriously at first, as the tasks are trivial things like having one student kiss another. Soon, the tasks escalate beyond what the kids are willing to do, and they learn that the cost of failure is death. Will they be able to find a way out of the Ousama Game before more people die, and the living lose their integrity and humanity through their participation in the increasingly horrible daily tasks?
The plot kinda promising at first but after reaching to the end, I started to think how absurd the plot was. At first, guessing who is "The King" is challenging. I started to doubt Chiemi then Yuko(she seems isolated) and then started to point towards Nobuaki but in the end "The King" is .................(watch by yourself-lah) There is no horror, no ghost, no gruesome killings and etc. It will just make you to find out who is "The King".
After halfway of watching this movie, I really wanted to know how this "Ōsama Game" started. The history behind it but my wish was not come true. The movie failed to reveal every single things that I wanted to know.
......but I love the Ōsama's song by Airi Suzuki and she is kawaii
