In western, they have Superman, Batman, Catwoman, Marvel's Agent and etc while in Malaysia we also have our own superhero; Keluang Man, Cicak Man, Boboiboy and etc but do you ever wondering, you also can be a SUPERHERO!
I have been a superhero since 2012 and I am proud as I had save maybe 15 lives so far. Who am I?
Yes! I am a SUPERHERO. I donated my blood and save lives.
|...and Yes!, I have been a superhero since 2012|
I started having a courage to donate my blood when I was in matriculation in Johore but during that time, there were too many people donating and the tube for storing blood were out of stock, so they re-schedule to bring those who missed to the hospital but I skipped cause I saw lot of other students fainted after done donating.... hehe... I am such a coward.
Then, in 2012, I attended ANSARA program; "Tun M Unplugged" and met some of my fellow Ansarians. Eventhough, we graduated in different years and different MRSM but still that won't prevent us to become a friend. During that time ANSARA annouced that they are organizing a blood donation program and Yes! we agreed to met in AEON Alpha Angle and joined the donation. The first time donating my blood, I felt like I have been "F5" aka refresh and started from that time, I have been addicted to donate my blood.
Haven't you heard about a myth saying that people who donated their blood will gain a weight. Well, that was a totally BS. Since my first donation, my weight never exceed 47 kg. My normal weight is around 43kg-45kg and sometimes, eventhough I really want to give a donation, I will always been rejected because my weight is below 45 kg. That's why as you can see on my record, I normally do a donation one in a year.
I won't write longer. All I want to say is:
You don't need a superpowers to be a superhero. Just initiative.
So, what are you waiting for, grab your IC and head to nearest blood donation campaign. :)
